From its inception in 1988, The YMCA Loudoun County’s Chocolates Galore & More (“Chocolates”) has captured the interest of chocolate lovers throughout the region, growing steadily throughout the years to become one of the area’s most festive and anticipated events. Initially conceived as a showcase for luscious chocolate creations in competition, the event has grown to include both an hors d'oeurve and dessert competition, silent and live auctions, and more.
Originally held at the Leesburg Chrysler Dodge showroom with attendance of approximately 100, event attendance now routinely exceeds 700. The elegant Lansdowne Resort has most recently served as the generous host of Chocolates, yet the growth of the event has necessitated that we seek a larger setting. Thus, we are delighted to announce a new venue for the 2009 gala: The National Conference Center, home of Northern Virginia’s largest ballroom, offering expanded space, additional seating and an elegant environment all in one. Proceeds from the event fund vital YMCA programs. The support of the community is the cornerstone of our success, ensuring our ability to make a genuine difference in the lives of those who truly need assistance.
